3D Festival Opening Weekend of V&A Dundee – (14-16 September)

The highly anticipated opening of Scotland’s first ever design museum will be taking place over the weekend of 14-16 of September. The 3D Festival will celebrate the opening of this magnificent waterfront structure designed by renowned architect Kengo Kuma. The event will include performances by leading figures of the Scottish rock and psychedelic scene such as Lewis Capaldi, Be Charlotte, and Primal Scream who will be performing with visual artist and Turner Prize nominee Jim Lambie.
Visit the permanent collection exhibited in the Scottish Design Galleries and do not miss the first temporary exhibition Ocean Liners: Speed and Style which illustrates the glamour, design and cultural impact of ocean liners during the first-half of the 20th century.
Space Shifters – Hayward Gallery (26 September – 6 January 2019)
Hayward Gallery will close its 50th Anniversary Year with an incredible group exhibition featuring 20 international artists who explore volume, space, light and scale.
Space Shifters will feature works by 20 leading international artists – ranging from minimalist installations from the 1960s to site-specific commissioned works.
Featured artists will include: Leonor Antunes, Larry Bell, Fred Eversley, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Jeppe Hein, Roni Horn, Robert Irwin, Ann Veronica Janssens, Anish Kapoor, Yayoi Kusama, Alicja Kwade, John McCracken, Josiah McElheny, Helen Pashgian, Charlotte Posenenske, Fred Sandback, Monika Sosnowska, Daniel Steegmann Mangrané, De Wain Valentine and Richard Wilson.

Renzo Piano: The Art of Making Buildings – The Royal Academy of Arts (15 September – 20 January 2019)
Discover the vision and inspiration behind one of the greatest architects of our time. Designed and curated by Piano himself, this retrospective offers a unique insight into 16 specific projects which defined the Renzo Piano Building Workshop.
The exhibition will include never-before-seen drawings, models, photography, signature full-scale maquettes spanning over the last 30 years of Piano’s career. It will also include a central ‘Island’ which will be composed by visuals of over 100 of Piano’s projects.
